Trip Davis is the Co-Founder and Chairman of TRX, a global leader in travel technology and data services. TRX develops and hosts software for reservation processing, online booking and data intelligence. The Company delivers its technologies in an on-demand environment to travel agencies, corporations, travel suppliers, government agencies, credit card associations, credit card issuing banks, and third-party administrators. TRX processes more than $400 billion per year in travel volume on behalf of its clients, including transaction data from 400 sources in 50 countries. Based in Atlanta, the company employs 800 people in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, and India.

Trip co-founded TRX in December 1999 and served as the CEO and a Board member for nine years. He was named Chairman of the Board in December 2008. He has led the dramatic transformation of TRX from a U.S.-based process outsourcing company for a few, large clients to a global hosted technology and data services company for many clients.

Trip is recognized as a dynamic industry leader and contributor. He is the six-time Chairman of the Masters Program, the premier executive forum for corporate travel industry leaders. In 2007 and 2002, Business Travel News recognized him as one of the Top 25 Influential Executives in the travel industry. In 2005, the National Business Travel Association (NBTA) voted Trip its Member of the Year. Three times, Travel Agent Magazine has listed him as one of the 100 Rising Stars in the travel industry.

Prior to co-founding TRX, Trip was the Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Travel Industry Practice Group at iXL and Co-Founder and CEO of Green Room Productions, a San Francisco-based Internet travel technology company, which he sold to iXL in February 1998. Before starting Green Room Productions, Trip worked in new ventures for the Travel Channel at Landmark Communications and was an Associate Producer with ESPN and Jobson Sailing, covering international sailing events and the America’s Cup.

He is the non-executive Chairman of hotelicopter (hotel search technology platform) and serves on the Board of Directors of the Riverstone Group (private holding company) and the Board of Trustees of the Darden School Foundation at the University of Virginia.

Trip is an adjunct faculty member and Lecturer at the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia where as Co-Faculty Director of the Galant Center for Entrepreneurship, he is coordinating the new curriculum in entrepreneurship.

Trip earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Dartmouth College and an MBA from the Darden School at the University of Virginia. He is also a graduate of Leadership at the Peak at the Center for Creative Leadership.
