| Global Travel Data Leader Enhances Data Security for Clients |
Atlanta, 27 March 2009 — TRX, Inc. (NASDAQ: TRXI), a global leader in travel technology and data services, today announced it has achieved the highest data security tier for service providers recognized by the Payment Card Industry (PCI) through receiving the PCI Data Security Standard Level 1 Service Provider status from the PCI Security Standards Council.
“Our clients trust us with their customers’ personal credit card information as well as other valuable data,” said Shane Hammond, President and CEO, TRX. “We process millions of travel records each week, and our top priority is to keep our clients’ data secure. Safeguarding sensitive information is the cornerstone of our business, and achieving the important milestone of PCI compliance is the latest example of our continued commitment to our clients.” This achievement follows an extensive on-site audit conducted by an independent third party operating in accordance with the PCI Security Standards Council. In addition, TRX has adhered to a rigorous data security standard designed to provide additional assurances that client-confidential data is kept secure. As part of certification maintenance process, TRX will undergo quarterly external vulnerability assessments to ensure that key systems remain secure and compliant between annual certifications. The PCI Security Standards Council, an organization founded by American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB, MasterCard Worldwide, and Visa International, is an independent body formed to develop, enhance, disseminate, and assist with the implementation of standards for payment account security. PCI Data Security Standard Level 1 compliance is the highest tier outlined for service providers by the PCI Security Standards Council. |
