| NBTA Invites Travel Industry Leader to Participate In Special Task Force |
ATLANTA, 29 July 2010 — TRX, Inc. (www.trx.com) (Other OTC: TRXI.PK), a world-leading provider of travel technology, process automation, consulting and data services, today announced its participation in a special National Business Travel Association (NBTA) task force focused on the management of airline ancillary fees. According to US Department of Transportation statistics, US airlines generated $1.86 billion in revenue from ancillary fees in the first quarter of 2010, up 33% from last year. Based on the belief that corporate buyers need increased transparency to understand the full impact on their overall airline spend and travel policy, NBTA organized a special task force to develop a best practices approach to solving issues created by the growth in airline ancillary fees. The NBTA Airline Ancillary Product Global Task Force represents constituents that affect booking, payment, and tracking air travel expenses, including credit card issuers, Global Distribution Systems (GDS), airlines, travel management companies (corporate travel agencies), and corporate travel buyers. TRX will contribute its expertise in the areas of data capture, normalization, enhancement and reporting. "We are excited to lend our expertise to NBTA's special task force on ancillary fees," said Shane Hammond, President and CEO, TRX. "TRX provides a unique perspective on the management and reporting of ancillary fees, and we know firsthand the impact ancillary fees have had on corporate travel managers." TRX's TRAVELTRAX® reporting solution delivers improved insight into all travel-related expenses including fees resulting from airline, hotel, and car rental agency service-specific fees incurred post booking. More than 10,000 corporations who rely on TRAVELTRAX to provide travel and expense reporting and analytics services now have instant access to dashboard reporting capabilities that provide travel managers greater insight into ancillary fee expense. |
